Welcome to the Wilton Militia

Welcome, we are pleased to have you visit our web site. The Wilton Militia seeks to extend the reach of its parent organization, the Wilton Historical Society, by presenting and preserving the heritage of those colonial and revolutionary era militiamen who served our community.
Local militias were the first line of defense in Colonial America. After 1776 they served their young nation well in the Revolution and the War of 1812 with commitment and courage.

Today's Wilton Militia participates in various public events to extend this valuable heritage and to raise the community's awareness and knowledge of the early militia's historical significance. Wearing appropriate 18th century uniforms, we participate in drills, battle reenactments, community parades and events sponsored by the Wilton Historical Society and other similar organizations.
You can learn more about the Wilton Militia by visiting the different pages here and viewing the Photo Gallery. Thank you for visiting our web site and enjoy your stay.
